Title: Active carbon and power
Post by: V_Schaub on September 23, 2010, 07:18:10 AM
I used few interesting design with zinc / aluminum + active carbon and the result is quite interesting.
E.g. 8x8cm ALU plate - saltwater moistered paper - active carbon == 0.7V / 150mA.

Something like this:
http://exo.net/~pauld/activities/AlAirBattery/alairbattery.html

Main problem:
I can not hold the capacity of this battery.
Current will drop in cca 25 sec, to 10mA and it keeps falling.
I understand that the carbon is the problem but what to do to prevent this fast power drop.

Hi Walt.
I send you email regarding this topic.
I could not find much info on your design.

I searched under Walts, Walter, AG cell, Hofman.
Is there some general topic on your battery design ?
