Thanks,,there is always something to discover,,thats for sure. Had another idea,,about using my easier way to power a led here,,made a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znSXB7T1mcY  Anyway the concept goes like this,,using many of these,,as shown in the video,,I power many leds,,shine on solar panel or panels,,produce power,,use that power from the solar panels to recharge the plasma balls batteries while it runs,,or at the least recharge four separate aaa batteries beside it,,then those can be used back in the plasma ball when its batteries drain to much,,or something along this idea,,its just a concept...Thanks again..

The problem with using LEDs and photocells in a string is efficiency .
Although  we can get alot more light from a battery with a JT than we could with a conventional circuit we probably are not anywhere near 100%

Then there is the efficiency of the solar cell......I read somewhere that they are coming out with a new higher effiency solar cell.......around 35% efficient ......that is HIGH  !!!


I think  your charger is the way to go.........simple and easy
Move a wire .... add a diode and another battery and away you go.
