I was finding parts and about to build my own flyback transformer and coil for Don Smith type setups and found this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171925902253

Is there any reason this would not work driving primary coils? I mean that includes postage and it has the coil and driver with it. If the first one works I will order a bunch

I'm doing something similar. This site has some products that may interest you http://www.amazing1.com/neon-transformers-12v.html. Not sure about the ebay product. I think I would email the seller with any questions.

Thx for the site! My link was 14 bucks and these are like 55$ AND they got short circuit protection or GFI. Wouldn't that stop your NST from working?

I gotta check all their items, if they got some that had the protection removed.

Well I'm no expert when it comes to electronics but the Smith pdf only mentions it is preferable to have a nst which is not earthed. I think you will find these 12V nst's are not earthed.

Hmm I gotta read it again. The first circuit it feeds is earthed and on his video Don say the center tap is earthed with the spark gap
