The wind has always been a free energy source but putting up huge windmills is expensive.   These people have developed a mpre affordable solution.   As a former hang glider pilot I know from experience how much difference there is between wind speeds at lower altitudes and higher altitudes.   They have made good use of this idea in the Energy Kite:  http://www.google.com/makani/technology/
