Hi Garry,

Thank you what you said does make sense. You said "diode ON EACH WIRE?" WHICH WIRES/ one way diode? Can you explain and
draw a diagram for me please ??

Also you said your interest here many years ago. How did it turn out??

The purpose of the diode / diodes is to stop input power from the drive battery, going straight to the charge battery.

This means only power flowing in the opposite direction to the input is being collected by the charging battery.

The diodes go on the power wires that send power to the coils but if you connect power to them it will not drive the motor.

When you power up the coil the magnetic field is created because of the electron flow ..... when you take the power off ... the magnetic field colapses creating electron flow in the opposite direction .... this is what the diode allows to go back to the charge battery.

This is the hook, the time you see there is power coming out, that is otherwise wasted. it is true for every motor, as in every motor is a generator if spun via external power.
