if you get your Reactor to work again.

I have been reading, that one can do a selfmade fuel cell
from graphite and very fine powered nickel powder.

Nickel then works as the catalyst and is not consumed.

in this video link i think he is making carbon (not sure). but the book he sells may have the answers your are looking for. if you could get a hold of Roy M. he should know for sure but i don't know if he even has a Email address. i do know that steven H. only wants to sell books. I have not been to the web site for some time. and i don't think he has an address either.
