In my dealings with another forum I came across an interesting concept which could serve as a variable inductor for tuning the LC circuit to resonate.

You  an also use a core as screw. Or just make it movable inside tube.






You can combine these 2. You will get maximal variation.

By the way you can always put induction elements in series.

Yes this are two different system
first-one was used befor WW2 (Germany)
If work by add od substract the Induction from inner coil to the outher coil ´(by turning up to
180 degress.



the second (example 1950/12960 in car Radios from Blaupunkt (and others.
Induction will be vary bey moving the inner core (ferrit) - and other metalls!)
also an conterwound coil can be slide in an outher coil (with larger diameters.


If you tune your L/C  devices with the L and the C
you can have in each point of frequency the optimized Resítance of circuit.
(Some UHF devices was constructed so 50 years ago...)
