Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

Researchers have for the first time observed magnetic monopoles and how they emerge in a real material, http://www.physorg.com/news171209923.html

These days, the scientific journalism produces the real free energy, that is, more heat than light. Most attempt to sell their stories with highly sensationalist headlines and twisted bodies of facts.

Unfortunately, there are no magnetic monopoles, just like there is no free lunch.

If you see the diagram of "strings" and read the user comments, you will see that they are talking about virtual monopoles, something that is made up of a very long string of dipoles. They did not find a real monopole.

If you take a very long magnet, the effect of the other pole at N-pole side is very weak. If you make it flexible, you can say that you have two monopoles, and moving one hardly affects the other. But you know in your heart that its merely words....

You can make apparent monopole at home by shielding or by an arrangement where the other pole is far away or distributed over a larger volume. You will still get a sticky spot. :(

"Researchers have discovered a magnetic equivalent to electricity: single magnetic charges that can behave and interact like electrical ones."

"I think it's better to have ideas [than beliefs.] You can change an idea. Changing a belief is trickier. Life should malleable and progressive; working from idea to idea permits that. Beliefs anchor you to certain points and limit growth; new ideas can't generate. Life becomes stagnant." - Rufus the 13 Apostle.

@Nihilanth - That link almost deserves it's own thread.  We are talking about net charge and not a result of chained dipoles...There is something significant here.

@Omega - I think there is more here than your analogy of long dipoles.  The actual research papers are the best to read and most of the comments are opinions of people who are far from the research.  These results are not equivalent to making a monopole from long dipoles.  Don't let the picture confuse you into thinking that is what is begin revealed here.  There is a lot if really exciting research utilizing the pyrochlore-lattice which is generating a lot of excitement.  We should expect to hear more announcements as many researchers have entered this field.

Yesterday, I walked out of my office and they were giving away food---dare I say a free lunch?

Yes, I know this can't exist and I am a smart guy, so it intrigued me...more so because I didn't receive anything from anyone or even talk one word with anyone.  Just walked up grabbed my free lunch and left.  But I guess you are going to tell me that it wasn't free because there is some complicated offset of my work to grab the food and we start to redefine what "free" means or something... to which I talk about occam's razor...and then you counter with a witty comeback about how complicated the monopole experiment is...

BUT I ate a free lunch yesterday and it was good...."no strings attached"
