Hello everyone, I wanted to ask you all about Inductance capacitance Resistance meters.

What sort of measuring tolerances would be acceptable for closely matching caps and coils for resonant tanks?

Are the hand-held variety suitable for fine-tuning inductors and hand-made caps?

Any special functions to be mindful about?

As with most engineering principals, is there a 'rule of thumb' for these devices?

Any thoughts guys, maybe post a link for the one you have on your workbench.

Thanks in advance

:)

This is the one I have on my bench.

It has a couple minor flaws, but I am in general quite happy with it considering the price.

Thanks poynt99 That is indeed better specs and cheaper than I have found on ebay and the like.

0.3% tolerance is very good for hand held devices it seems.

Thank you.
