OK who here knows what to do?...I obviously don't.

Is there a formula out there for how many wraps, what size of wire for a certain amount of volts / amps you want to put into a coil to step things up?

I want to put in 26v and bump that to 130v so a ratio of 1:5.

How many wraps of wire do I need for the primary of my toroid?

It?s easier to be forgiven than it is to get permission....

hkyle,

Have a read up on the following two part transformer guide which includes info on toroids:

http://sound.westhost.com/xfmr.htm

http://sound.westhost.com/xfmr2.htm

For calculating inductance and wire sizes, check this page:

http://www.66pacific.com/calculators/default.htm

Hope that helps.

Thanks RicharDay I will do that.
