Both tinman and I, and hundreds of other pulse motor builders, have PMs that do not require increased input power with load, for any given RPM. This is just the way this kind of pulse motors work.
Nowadays, the most efficient types of motors are typically brushless DC motors, which are driven by a kind of 3-phase pulse-width-modulation driving system. These are the kinds of motors found in electric drone aircraft, where precise speed control, high power-to-weight ratios and maximum electrical efficiencies are very important design considerations.

Pulsed induction Motor sounds good to me. Selectively pulse it when it's driving the rotor, don't do so when it would brake it.

If Tesla had Mosfets, he would have done so too.
