Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

QuoteActually, today the most sophisticated method of generating wideband RF waveforms is via DDS or Direct Digital Synthesis.  Simply put, it involves a digital lookup table in whatever resolution is required that drives a DAC to produce whatever waveform is required.

Actually, it's not that sophisticated at all and I was using tables and mapping with the Arduino to generate my own specific wave forms like higher end signal generators a long time ago. However as I said, regardless of the kind of modulation it still requires analog conversion before it can be transmitted as RF. Otherwise all the individual digital pulses generate unwanted harmonics and distortion in the RF signal creating interference.

Onepower,

Well, I don't know but I think 500MSa/S in a reasonably priced Arb Gen such as the Rigol DG4162 is pretty sophisticated IMO.

That's a nice unit but a little pricey.

I have a couple signal generators collecting dust as well an analog scope and a newer DSO. The problem with a lot of this newer stuff is that the setup takes a while and many of my HV circuits could smoke them without even trying. I don't mean not using HV probes, I mean if your electronics are within four feet of my machine without any probes attached and unplugged it's still toast. So while good DSO's and signal gens do have there place cheap $5 microcomputers as signal gens do as well.

I get it, I like my DSO and signal gen for the relatively simple stuff however for the HV, high energy stuff there basically useless.
