UFO sighting ?

Hi Stefan,

I've been posting in other forums and I've been avoiding this one; but I can relate an incident that happened to me back when I was a teenager. Probably about 13 or 14 years old. That's around 1973-74.

It was late at night and it was during the winter; I was taking the family dog out for a walk to an open field near our house. I looked up at the sky and noticed what I initially thought was the moon. It was round like the full moon and had the same brightness as a full moon but it was smaller. Maybe a third, or a quarter the size of the moon. I thought immediately that it was strange that the moon was so small; but I kept walking the dog. As I stopped and looked up again I started to look very hard at the "moon". It just looked so strange and small. It was just sitting there in the sky, motionless, and I stared at it for a good half-minute to a full minute.

Then I was surprised to see the "moon" suddenly begin to move. Straight upward; but very, very slowly. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It just went straight up. There was no sound. The night was clear except for a part of the sky above the moon that had clouds. It kept going upward, ever so slowly until it was lost from my sight in the clouds above. I was in shock, and had no idea what I saw. It was so bright I doubted it was a balloon, but maybe it could have been. I don't know. The family dog was acting normally and didn't seem to notice anything strange.

That incident has been with me all my life; told my parents but they just brushed it aside. That was no plane or helicopter, and I seriously doubt it was a weather balloon. I absolutely do not believe in aliens from space. I think Jesus would have told us about them; but I do believe all these strange sightings are from advanced technology being developed by our own government, and other governments.

That is just my opinion, of course. I am a scientist, and once I see the creature in the flesh, I will stay open to the truth. Show me the proof, then I will decide. Otherwise, I'm sticking with man being alone in a universe created just for us, with us at its center and purpose. Conceited? No. Absolutely not. I am humbled by such a thought.
