Free distilled water??

We need a file typed regarding how to obtain free distilled water for the upcoming water fuel transition. We can't have minerals of tap water clogging the narrow water gap of our hydrogen cells. I had thought of an attatchment to wood stove/furnace to boil water to steam and recondense. Also the exhaust manifold of an engine is about 1000 degrees. A solar distillery unit with vapors coming off glass plates may work. An electric heating element distillation unit needs free electricity. There are also special filters on the market that remove minerals. An old article from mechanics magazine showed AC hooked to aluminum plates in tap water forming sediment of minerals since 60 cycles a second (shock) frequency drops out minerals in jar. (dangerous). A programmed timed relay pulser with short duty cycle may then not blow fuses.

Hi,
why not  just use the easy method of using
low thermoheating with the sun?s help.
Just use tapwater in a black painted plastic bowl
and put transparent seran(plastic) foil ontop
of it.
The water will evaporate and condensate on the upper plastic foil.
Now if you do it right and have one
side of the plastic foil outside of the bowl and
angle the whole setup right,
the evaporated water will run down the plastic foil and
will run down into another glas bowl where the plastic foil
is opened there and the evaporated destilled water will collect
there...

So you have a cheap free destiller for free destilled water
from tap water.

And if you start with rainwater, you can take advantage of the sun twice, for when it evaporated in the first place, it lost most of the heavier ions you're trying to get rid of anyway.

By far, the cheapest way to remove minerals is by reverse osmosis. You can get an RO unit dirt cheap these days, especially on ebay. Plus this would provide you with first quality drinking water.

But, actually your Hydrogen cell could also be used. If you run the water through the cell at a  lower voltage (electro-coagulation) then send the water into a larger container, the solids should fall to the bottom within 3-5 minutes since they have been oxidied and will create a heavy floc (floculation). You can then reused the water for your cell.
