But my old science teacher lived near it and went to it often when he was a kid, hes now working on his masters er phd er i cant remember exactly but leedskalkin is a big mistery. Yes, ferrite magnets are made that way, but probably most here don't use them as they are not as powerful as any of the rare earth type.  Yes, it takes energy to "create" a magnet but my theory is that one takes electrical energy to make magnets using an electro magnet and the particles in the new magnet line up to become a magnet. It is the rearranging of the particles that makes a magnet right?  So, I do think of a magnet as a type of battery but, not because it stored the electrical energy that was used to make it, it was converted to "magnetic" energy and this is what has been stored, and this is what we, hopefully, can convert into mechanical energy.

So, when people tell me a magnet motor is impossible because you can't create energy, I tell them it would not be creating energy, only converting it in a way not before understood to be possible.  No violation of thermal dynamic law.

Exactly. This is why you need to heat the ferrite material. It has something to do with how the atoms align themselves. I believe that this too is a source of a magnets power. Still though that is simply extracting the potential energy contained within those FE atoms.

Exactly. The unfortunate thing is that this whole issue of thermo-dynamics has been used to discredit the idea of free energy even though none of these various proposals we all have violate thermo-dynamics in any way.
