It is the best 80 dollars you will ever spend, when you get it, don't mess around just lodge it, provisional can be amended and you have a year to lodge the full application. I have design products for many people over the years, and seen other works they have designed themselves they never patented that everyone now makes. The guy i invented the accelerator for was no physics genius, but is a great electrical engineer in heating. He was the guy who invented the heated pizza bag, and then took it to pizza hut, who screwed him and had it made themselves, (not as efficient as his) but he never patented it, i saw all the letters and dates when i was working at the factory building the accelerator. Imagine how much he lost?
