Silica Gel testing needed

could someone with a packet of Silica gel beads test the beads to see if they are semiconductive, if they are then they might be used to absorb LASER dyes that can photomultiply photons within a semiconductor.

I would test this myself but I don't have any Silica Gel at the moment.
