Hi stefan,
just make the mud similar to yoghurt and then take 2 rubberbands who are not to tight just that they push the plates together watrch that the mud is not squezed out tu much and then put all of this in a plastic bag rappe it tight and put 2 rubber bands across and 1 rubberband over the lenght this should hold a verry long time.
My test cell is down today but still holds 0.665V with the 47 ohm resistor and it run's now for 117 hours continiously.

Once it dries out forget it. You just as well should throw the cell in the trash.

hi stefan,
I have reveived many cells with replanishing with the saltsolution and they are coming back to at least 80% of the starting voltage but the current is still there, except when the cell is allready realy old and was try for more then 1 year and even there idid reactivate a cell ( the old type with graphite cylinder and zamak in the middle)which did just laying around on my workbench for more then 18 month and after refill them it was back to 0,95V and did have a schort circuit current of 160mA.
