Well done.  I would only add that folks use led bulbs instead of cfls as you can get much more light with less power use.

I have used the Lights Of America bulbs from Walmart so far and I get at least 2 times the light as I do from my cfl versions.

I didn't notice if you also cut the anode end of the diode to get the full wave in your version?  If not, this really helps a lot with the output.  A single AA can run 3 of these bulbs which have 27 led chips in each bulb.  Very, very bright and no breakage or mercury to worry about.

I always wanted to do a how to on the Fuji mod but never got around to it.  Great job.

I have not refered to the led bulbs because of the cost. They are still very very expensive!
especially in the UK. The cheapest I have seen them so far in the UK stores are about £15-£20 each.
I also tried to keep this as simple as possible and is the main reason I suggested using cfl's because they are so easy to get and most people already have a few kicking about.
Yes you are correct about cutting the anode end of the diode and no I do not show this in the video again just for keeping it a simple as possible. Maybe I should have included that as I agree it makes a big difference. Thanks for picking up on that.

Hi Arnookie: Finally I could find a Fuji circuit exactly as the right one in your pics, but I don’t get it as bright as yours. I’m working with a CFL of 12watts. Even more I get it lit just when I make bridge between contact 2 and one leg of resistor (straight left welding point).

Hi, well I can suggest cutting the anode end of the diode.
Also try a charged rechargable battery with it. You could also try a higher watt bulb. But 12watt sounds good to me. Some bulbs depending on make also give less light output. Try a philips bulb or another make of bulb, Some have a very dim yellow output, the ones I use have a very bright blue output I found philips to be the best for me. I found the bulbs lower than 11 watt give very little light.
