Heat pumps are yet another craziness.
Effect will be -overloaded electric grid, blackouts and high price of electricity.
For every house that was heated by 10kW gas/wood or coal - with a heat pump they will consume 3-5kW electric energy more.
Another thing that is overlooked by "green Talibs" is DIVERSITY.
Once you eliminate gas,wood and coal from space heating mosaic  and go for electric energy only, you will be dependent from one source. That is dangerous and expose population to threat of black outs, high energy prices due to energy monopoly .
Didn't you Germans learned a lesson from exposing yourselves to russian gas monopoly?

p.s.: the russian/siberian gas ( but also shale-gas from/in Northamerica) gave the opportunity to hold the oil prices global down ( peakoil versus peakgas) !

  You are kidding?
1. EU industry will collapse, due to overregulation, taxes and high energy/production/labour costs already biggest producers are moving away from EU. CO2 will be produced in wast amounts in countries who don't give a f*** about your eco-mania. India, China, Africa ect.
2. Every socialist utopia ends up in powerty, social unrests (see France example) and hunger. EU climatic and energy policy is such utopia that is already costing EU citizens extra money.
3. I wish you a very success , please put PV panels on your roof, put a tonne of storage batteries in your basement, install a heat pump and disconnect from the grid . Are you disconnected already?
