Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

I see a big difference in the kacher's output, when a ground line is connected to the transistor's emitter.
As the same ground line is also connected to the grenade, and not just earth ground is in common with the kacher circuit transistor. But, also with the grenade, the TL494, and fet drivers, as well. In Starr earth ground formation,  or something like that.
And, yes, my input increases at resonance, which is normal , as far as I've seen up to now.

Jeg

Thanks for the answers guys! It is just difficult to digest the fact that my Tesla coil consumes 1A at 1MHz and when going in to resonance by attaching the top cap plate consumes over 5A!!! I see long streamers though and probably i will leave it as it is. But first i will change my input chock inductor to a higher value to see its behavior.

For comparison purposes, i use a 148m wire of 0,4mm on a 5cm diameter pvc tube. Total 945 turns. Coil length 37,8cm. Without antenna vibrates close to 1MHz.

Jeg,

not sure if i understand you, but surely without the top cap plate when running 1A @ 1mhz, it also is in resonance, as normally such
a kacher/tesla setup runs in auto resonance mode, right?

Do you have no streamers in that condition (no top cap)?   Does the end wire just end on the top without streamers?

The streamers with top cap plate (has it sharp edges?) stand for losses, so therefor your current goes up to 5A, thats not unusual i think.

Perhaps a video will show it better?

Hi Itsu, thanks for asking.
I'll try to explain better.

My Katcher is in resonance as you say but at a frequency which is not corresponding to the 1/4 wavelength. If 148m is the 1/4 of the total wavelength then 500KHz would be my resonant frequency for highest voltage at the top of the coil. Right? Instead, without a top load, it vibrates at 1Mhz.
When trying to bring it down with a top load then i have this huge current rising.

Even at 1MHz and without a top load, i have nice streamers which rock. I was just wanted to tune it as in every Tesla coil, at the 1/4 of the total wavelength. But looks difficult without spending a hell lot of current. :)

Jeg if I have a coil that vibrates at 1Mhz a frequency of 1/4 wave is the 4th harmonic thats 4 times faster not slower, slower is a 1/4 of the frequency not the wave.
