However the Grenade Coil still has a few questions regarding how it may function. Especially the top few windings [27.5 x 2 and 13.75 x 4].

There is a fat chance that the top few windings as you described it, to be a stand alone coil with no relation with the first two layers of the grenade coil.

I have a contraption which needs to be measured. I took my oscilloscope readings but i would like to get involved in measurements by using resistance heaters and water. I found a digital thermemeter and i also ordered a 12V heater resistance at 180W. But...when i received the package i realised that the heater resistance is from China and the ohmic resistance is higher than the calculated.
What i'd like to ask is if i can use normal wattage resistances deeped in the glass of water. I will use mineral water for avoiding shortcuts. The type of resistance that i am thinking to use is attached.
