I do not know yet how this measurement is triggered, I am talking about this part of the current measurement on this ferrite ring ,how this high-frequency signal penetrates with the lower inductor?

I have my doubts (how it has to fulfill the roles of synchronization as there are such disturbances) you have some filters on this ferrite spike?
if in pushpull I know more or less how it should work, but in kacher it's not really anymore...
you have video material where I will be I will be able to capture this moment of this fragment as this frequency is blocked and what is the difference without it?

The first board on the left is his kacher board,...  unfortenately he does not show the bottom/ solder side as what he did with the obsolete push pull board.

What i do reconize (kacher board) is he is using a CT (current torroid)... and it is not closeby connected on board to his 4046, i assume he is using it only for the timing moment of the HV "burst".
The logic (DIL14) between the 4046 and his MOSFET driver (DIL8) should or must be the "Puls duration"circuit.

In my opinion the CT somehow is connected (its voltage is shopped of by a zener)... and will generate the puls out of a sinewave to trigger the duration circuit.
In this configuration idea he is probably probing the inductor loop with this CT.


The strange part is as you noticed also is that its not visuable if the 4046 has a "Current"feedback from the kacher (secundairy) in order to generate the "LOCK" on pin#13 together with pin#3.
Where the "red"and "green" LED are used for ......  either LOCK (probably not...  need to get it from pin#1 & pin#2)..  or ?

He could probe the V-component from the MOSFET driver...  and has pin#13 connected to pin#4 of his 4046?
It would only be a ordinairy oscilator in my opinion.



Maybe Ruslan can explain some more details....  i don't need much info


Btw..  he uses a 74HC4046 running on 5V...  not a CD4046

Hi there I don't want to be a pain in the preverbial be after reading (sorry glancing over) can I just say what i am aware of on the  push pull module If you used a TL494 you will ghet a true 'd'type' sqaure wave! now the CD4046 is a great chip to phase lock but you wont get a square wave out of it unless you feed it into a 'd'type CD4013 or similare HL type.
is this important ? well it could faff it all up so experiment and feed it back to the rest of us.

Now all I can see the 'yoke doing is creating two drive wave forms both 90deg apart if you get the right frequency.
What does that do ? well experiment but you should get a gain.

Now then there is the katcher and that's never right all it does is wast energy and I will have to think about that one. !

Maybe i m crazy but my 74HC4046 only creates squarewaves ....  i can feed them direct into a mosfet driver.
I don t know what you make out of the CD4046..  but i hope it aint sinewaves either?...

    Did you follow Akula's advice and build the spark gap generator? Did it work, the way that he said that it would work?

Should we stay turning pots for ever or do we need to create some disruptive pulses which in my opinion do some magic in most all coil// cap systems....
