I have watched this a few times !! Can anyone spot a driver chip ??  Hoppy ?? 

I remember some years ago seeing a Slayer oscillator circuit based on a couple of 2N2219 back to back. This design went automatically into self oscillation in the MHz range !!

Just wondering if this is the MO for the oscillator ??

Actually the question should be: Can anyone spot a successful replication of at least one of the Akula devices?

That would be an important confirmation that Akula has something at all and not just a few nice tricks.

The video is too much like what a magician does when
performing a "trick."   The movements and motions are
eerily similar.

The questions which always come to mind with these
purported self-runners are:

Why is it ever turned off?  (To prevent its eventual
running down as would be evidenced by the leds
dimming and going out?)

How is it turned off? (Apparently by discharging the
large electrolytic capacitor which is initially charged
with the small lithium cell.)

Once it goes into its "self-run" mode will it run forever?
(Or only until the large capacitor is depleted?)
