Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

@hoppy

Try the x10 probe, which normally has a better frequency response and rise time.

Same result.

I intend to knock-up a PCB for the re-build.

Further investigation indicates that its not primarily a build problem. Increasing the collector voltage with just the toroid as the collector load, reduces the pulse width under 1uS with an increase of rail voltage to 30v This also reduces both the leading and falling edge slopes. It looks to be essential to carefully limit the base current (maybe less than 35mA) so that when the collector voltage is increased to the specified 150V, the power dissipation of the transistor is kept within SOA.

I still need to re-build just to tidy things up, so will post some more waveforms when completed.

@All,

while improving my MOSFET design, i quickly put in my KT926A transistor to see if with my new nano-pulser (74HCT02) i can drive this transistor into saturation.
Well, obviously not, see the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6yJ67YSOYM&feature=youtu.be

By the way, the casualties in building this Dally replication up till now:

Itsu,

What happens to your pulse width if you replace the load resistor with your toroid and increase the collector rail voltage from 12V to say 50v?.

with or without the flyback diode installed?
