I have played with that type of device, it has a very sharp resonance, you need an audio frequency generator to find the peek for the material he or you want to use, then you get resonance.

One idea you could use is a plastic tube with  Neo x2 magnets apposing each other and two coils one coil to cancel the apposing field to gravity and collect the power from the coils over the trailing magnet as well, dont forget to wind some turns the other way half way through with a space between the coils. Just an idea.

Sharp resonance you say.   Hmmm, that would be high Q-factor.  I could probably use that coupled to these pulse capacitors I have.

What interests me greatly in the RuslanX video I posted above is how a regular toroid transformer transfers zero energy emanating from single wire coupled Tesla coils, but when this other toroid transformer is used, no problem transferring electrical power AND it's using an earth ground to boot.  So even with the normal toroid transformer, energy is passing to the earth ground, but we don't see it transfer UNLESS we use the specially wound toroid transformer.  My question to you all is why?

Is it a different kind of electrical energy that only the special toroid transformer can extract?

Is it the shearing of magnetic fields in this special toroid transformer?

What part of not-commonly-known electrical engineering is at play here?


I reckon I will need to do some experiments and shine some light on this phenomena.  If Vasmus used it in his device, there must be a good reason to do so.

I'm not entirely sure Itsu.  At first I thought maybe just a shorted strip of copper would work, but I'm having my doubts now.  I do think the winding is shorted though since we do not clearly see the ends sticking out.  If you watch the original Vasmus video, you'll notice the compass needle used to monitor the coils operation; I think this is a clue as to what we need this toroid transformer to do.  Somewhere I came across some discussion about shearing forces; pretty sure it was in one of the RS2 Theory videos.  What this does in the magnetic domain...?  I just can't say.  My thought was to try some experiments with a similarly wound toroid transformer operating near its maximum frequency and try manually shorting the radial loop and see if I can determine any varying effects.  If some anomaly can be found, then the next test is to see what this transformer does when connected inline to an earth ground.  Once we find a predictable way to create charge pumping from an earth ground, we should be able to engineer the next steps to having a real working device similar to Ruslan's, even if we end up doing it a different way.  I suspect all we need is the correct geometry and we're home free.
