the kacher will not be controllable in frequency, it will oscillate on its predetermined self-oscillation frequency.
What controllable is is: the moment of activating the kacher, the duration of such an activation, the position compared to the push pull (sine) wave and the number of those pulses.

Look at this Stalker video from about minute 14, you will see the pulses being created by his circuit.

ok, i watched the video at your request. Stalker tiresily talks about the usual circuit. From this I want to sleep.
The circuit can be normal described by text on one page. But he needs youtube.

I did not see the main oscillogram that I expected during the video clip.
He often observed in resonant devices.

I guess that the Stalker did not get to the power section tests, or the transistors burned out on first time. It was necessary to make a bridge or a half-bridge, and he made a push-pull.  Or his Tesla worked very poorly.

Sergh 368000 really oh so many, Just a bit of advice If I were you I wouldn't bother quiting your day day time job just yet
with a view replicating any of them for a living.

so its not me alone who starts falling asleep when viewing   

On the other hand, i doubt that you understand the total purpose of the shown diagram, or its me who does not understand your comment above about:

The push pull (not a bridge or a half-bridge) is needed to drive the yoke and has nothing to do with the kacher part other then syncing with each other.
