Magenetic Breakthrough for Magnetic Motor Experimentors

I came across this technology last year and feel it might open the imagination up of those working with magnetic motors and devices.
already the list of applications is impressive.

I checked them out and gave them 10 whole minutes.  I have been qualifying companies for about 20 years now!  lol

They look like a small company with a niche product, perhaps eight employees or less.  They can "spot weld" magnetic patterns into blanks to do some unique stuff.

They got a DoD R&D contract last year for the US Navy.  So they may survive on that a while while they try to hunt down a big customer or big licensing deal.  They dream of the Navy R&D being adopted but there is no guarantee of that and it would take years.  To me it feels like a solution looking for a problem which is tough for a small company.

A big negative is no bricks and mortar address on their web site.  My next step is usually to go to the White Pages or start searching for older articles that might state their address then Google Street View.  Also, nothing really comes up on the generic Google News which is not good.

You did a better job than I did investigating them. I did read some positive press about them last year.
I would never suggest anyone could develop an overunity device with this, in my article I clearly stated no one so far has ever constructed a magnetic motor, and the have history and science against them.  I can see a whole host of other possibilities if applied to other problems and married with other technologies.
My hat of to them for innovation and I wish them every success.

I give this one a thumbs up, actually.

At first I felt the same as MH but after reading what they are doing I see the point and the benefit. They are essentially doing very fine spatial shaping of a bulk field by positioning small strong magnets in specific ways. Think configurable Halbach arrays.

This idea can do amazing things. I first encountered it back in 1999 or 2000 when I was researching the work of Stefan Marinov. His mentor Nikolayev wrote a book, available only in Russian afaik, where these kinds of arrangements and effects were described.

I used Nikolayev's drawings to show me how to make a little "train" of small cars that remained together by magnetic linkages that were _non-contact_ and could transmit pushes or pulls across a clear large gap, very similar to what these folks are describing as one application. I had to use bulk magnets of course and so was limited in the kinds of effects. But the basic "push pull" or what I call the Nikolayev non-contact trailer hitch I did illustrate in a couple of videos some time ago. The ability to do much finer and more complex field shaping with smaller stronger magnets positioned in specific ways is a great idea.

The shaped-field concept is also the basic operating principle of the "gauss rifle" that SMOT builders always are re-inventing too.
