Have you seen a video with triangle and necklace running around a triangle?

Here is the science for this concept in a drawing below. And if one analyzes this science,
one finds that miraculously the numbers add up that it should work.

What I am interested in is why based on math and physics it shouldn't work.

A excellent site & resource - scroll down a couple of pages to find your example [similar].

I suggest you start with Stevin's & Simanek's explanations, then work your way up to the fundamental physics principles behind mechanics including Conservation Laws, Conserved fields, & Noether's Theorm - as a cross-check read up on the laws of Thermodynamics if you are interested.

It will take time & effort but it will also save you much more time & effort in the longer run.

He has to tighten the bottom to get it to work.

This is a mathematical puzzle as complex as an elementary school puzzle.

If a weight lifter can hold 10 weights vertically, he will be able to hold 20 weights on a 45 degree slope.

I'll give it the name Bajszár Perpetual Potion Machine (my last name).
