Searls Glass SEG

Have been reading up on John Searl all week, great stuff, but the big machine stuff is way to complicated and out of my scope when it comes to making the actual magnets.

BUT!! what is interesting is the Glass SEG that is claimed to work.



Has anyone tried to re-produce this?, if not then I think this could be a simple enough project to have a play with.

Because the disc is cut out of glass.
Now whether there is a difference between using PlexiGlass or real Glass is a good question.

Sounds interesting. I wonder what glass or Plexiglas does in the design.

Well seems a simple enough design, the arms with the magnets attached are cantilevered and adjusted with a spring to keep them horizontal.
There is a cam attached to the center that pushes the arms down
So as the strong magnet (arm with 2 magnets) comes down just on the edge of one of the magnets in the disc it will repel and then pull the opposite magnet up.
So getting the magnets spaced correctly and the tension on the springs is critical.

I have requested some more info on this to see if there are some closer pictures.
