The Steorn OU Technology, Testing, and the future.

Dear Mr. Sean McCarthy,

When you are a pretty ordinary person who has lived a fairly ordinary life there is a desire to have extraordinary something happen to make the world seem a little more exciting. Many people say that the world is full of possibilities, but the truth is that as of right now it's a pretty sad and misrable place for the majority of humanity. Even though a minority of us enjoy such luxuries such as internet access, the ability to communicate with people around the world, and rapidly expanding computer technologies the majority of the population of this planet don't even have the basics needs of life.

For a long time I have wondered why everyone claims we are becoming so much more advanced as a civilization here on Earth just because of highly advanced electronics, telecommunication, and perhaps medical care when the majority of people go to bed hungry or have parasites in their intestines. What do advanced electronics matter when so many people don't have shelter? What is a smaller Cell Phone when children don't have the basic medical care they need? Or perhaps what's the use of advanced drugs and even substances like telomerase inducers that could potentially slow down the human aging process when there are hundreds of millions of people who can't even have steady access to non-polluted water to drink?

In my opinion, our civilization sucks. It's pathetic and depressing to think about. We have all kinds of new gizmos from IPOD's, Playstation 3's, and huge towering buildings that rival the size of the pyramids but we can't feed the human population. Also, even if we could produce the food having the energy to effectively transport it to the people who need it would cost an enormous ammount of money.

Not only has our civilization focused on technologies to make our lives a little more fluffy and entertaining, but we have diverted some of the most talented minds on the planet from figuring out how to make things better for humanity to making weapons of war. Countless billions of dollars are spent on super advanced stealth jet fighters, unmanned aerial vehicles, and the perfection of tactile nuclear weapons when poor people in those same very nations have to choose between buying food and keeping their homes warm.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that your technology is different from all the above. It's not about making our lives more fun, more exciting, or allowing the next video game to have a hundred thousand more polygons per character. It's about a technology that could be used to make the world a fundamentally better place. The ability to have clean, unlimited, and cheap power anywhere it's needed is something that I find more than exciting. The fact such a technology exists and could soon be commercialized is actually thrilling beyond words.

Your technology could reduce pollution, purify water, turn deserts into farmland, promote enviromentally industry in economically challenged areas of the world, and set our entire civilization back on the right track. In my opinion, it would be the most significant technology since the discovery of fire by our ancestors. Because to keep a fire burning you have to find fuel for it and even afterwards pollution occurs. Your technology would not need fuel and the constant generation of energy would result in no pollution whatsoever.

Let's imagine a world ten years in the future where your technology is being used for the benefit of all mankind. In my personal opinion in such a future time, if an extraterrestrial civilization ever came to visit our humble planet your technology would probably be the only aspect they would consider civilized.

What I'm trying to get across is just how amazing your technology is to me and how significant it should be in all of our minds. It's the potential for a better world and better futures for billions of people. Honestly, it could be the difference between our grandchildren living in a harsh chaotic world on the brink of global collapse and one advancing to the point of being able to provide for the needs of us all. Finally, it would put us on the right path to uncovering other technologies and one day being able to fullfill our destiny to reach out and spread humanity among the stars.

But in addition to what your technology represents for the future there are some aspects of it that are important to the here and now. From what you have said the following is true.

It's simply various magnetic fields constructed by permanent magnets of even the now common neodymium type.

It's not working due to any kind of magnetic shielding.

It's a very simple technology and not complicated.

It's producing a lot of bang, kick, or in other words power.

Also, very importantly, the technology is currently self-sustaining and self-running with no continual input power. Actually, if you start it in the correct position of the cycle there is no need for input power at all to get it started.

From all of the above I have gotten the impression that your technology is so basic and simple that if the secret was released tommorow that any of us could send off an order for some magnets, take a short trip to a common hardware store, and assemble a working model in a very short period of time.

I'm fully aware that to absolutely prove your technology to the die-hard skeptical cult-like religion called by many as the "scientific community" you must explain your testing methods in detail. You must document every tiny step in the testing, explain every procedure, and basically spoon feed them in tiny infant sized bites the fact that your technology is indeed real. You have to lecture them in every step of your testing practices before you even move on to the actual over-unity technology.

The truth is I understand this. Many of them are more hard-headed than mules or a pre-historic triceratops dinosaur. I have debated with them about other issues outside of alternative energy in the past and if something does not fit into their little small "box" that they accept as real they will lash out and attack it for being different. To them a triangle is not a geometric shape at all, because they're only working with square toy blocks that fit into squre holes. A triangle doesn't fit so they deny it exists instead of realizing they might be missing the correctly shaped slot in their toy kit. To be fair, not all of them are that stubborn, but many of them indeed are that bad and worse.

But there are many of us who are not that stubborn. Many of us are not scientific die-hards who have been taught for decades to believe certain truths and dismiss anything else as pseudoscience. We are curious and interested individuals who are desperate for new technologies that could make this world a better place in a more meaningful and fundamental way than a higher clocked Pentium Processor Chip.

All we need to see is a setup of permanent magnets built by ourselves and with no continuous input power start moving and stay moving. That's enough for us. We are not so mentally dense that if we build a model motor that starts accelerating, keeps moving, and powers a small load that we are going to ask for any additional confirmation.

Please believe me when I say that the die-hard naysaying skeptical community is indeed smaller in number than the numerous open-minded people around the world. Perhaps not all of us have college degrees hanging on the wall. But we have a keen interest in science, want a better world to live in, and are desperate to learn how your technology functions.

Your slow and steady explanation of testing methods is a good thing. It's a very good thing because some people will indeed need to be spoon-fed the information. What I'm suggesting is that you have two programs running at once or two initiatives. On one hand you could have the slow and steady testing program and the official Jury initiative for the die-hard skeptics. However, seperately you could allow the other 90% of the population who would not require such re-education to replicate your device, see it self-running in our homes, maybe let in power a small light bulb, and show it off to all our friends.

You have claimed that in the relatively near future (a few weeks) at least some of the information about how the technology works will be released in the new device testing section which is to be posted. That's great, because many people need that kind of information. Hey, we want the detailed testing information too. But we don't need presentation after presentation to convince us that your technology and your company is legitimate. We are already giving you the benefit of the doubt, defending you against people slandering your name, and all we want to do is see this simple technology spinning infront of us in our homes.

If the testing information is going to be posted in a couple weeks apparently you do not think that doing so would risk your patent protection or intellectual property rights. My request is that if you can release the information and plans for the most basic of replications someone could do at home please go ahead and do so.

It would be tremendously appreciated by countless individuals around the world who are trying desperately to understand the concept behind your potentially world-changing technology.

We are the common ordinary people you will be helping in the long term with your technology. We are not the tiny minority of die-hard skeptics that do the most yelling, the most slandering, and make the most hateful noise. To be frank, we are the ones that faithfully try to keep an open mind despite their obnoxious behavior.

If you can do so Sean, please think of us in addition to the die-hards skeptical scientific community. Let them have reems of test data. And please let the rest of us have a small miniture device perpetually spinning on our desk at home and at work to show everyone so we can then send them to your website.

Regardless of your decision, thank you for all of your work, sacrifices, and efforts to promote a technology that could benefit mankind.

Thank you.

The end.

Hi bobcat,

Many thanks for your post. We know that the impact of our technology is way beyond anything that a small company should dare to dream about.

With this technology the responsibility resting on Steorn is far greater than a simple financial return to our shareholders. Indeed those who know me will know that I personally could care less about money. I do however have a responsibility to the employees and shareholders within Steorn to ensure the financial success of the company.

Our strategy and tactics are all geared towards one goal, get the technology proven, and get it into a market (any market) on such a large scale that it can never be ignored, then everything will change, forever. If we achieve this then as people and as a company we have won.

I cannot for obvious reasons go into all the tactics and strategies that we are acting on or considering, one of the key assets we have is the ability to do the unexpected and I can assure you that there will be many twists and turns in the road before we achieve what we need to achieve. Some of these twists and turns we will be responsible for and some will be forced from the outside.

I can say that we have considered and continue to consider (and I stress the term consider) an 'open source' type of approach for certain applications. If we do go ahead with this it will not happen today or tomorrow but it would happen early next year. The test methods we are posting at the moment would form a basic tool kit for anyone who would wish to be involved in this type of ?open source? model.

Thanks again,

Sean

Hi bobcat,

I am not saying that we will be releasing enough information with the flash for someone to build a system, however if we do decide to release our technology in an 'open source' manner, understanding the types of tests necessary and the type of test equipment required will be the first step for anyone serious about replicating the technology.

We have already stated that the technology will be royalty free for certain purposes, ultimately whatever the legal position we would never pursue the 'hobbyist' who has a genuine interest in replicating the technology - in fact we would (and will) encourage it.

So the real question for those interested is when will enough details become public? At this point I wish I could be specific - but cannot (there are a variety of reasons for this, but I will not go through them here).

However what I can tell you is that even when the details are released, an understanding of the tests and access to the type of test systems described will be a pre-requisite to an serious attempt to build a device.

Thanks again,

Sean

Hi Bobcat,

"However what I can tell you is that even when the details are released, an understanding of the tests and access to the type of test systems described will be a pre-requisite to an serious attempt to build a device."

It sounds like the experimenters on this site will have to save some coins to buy the necessary equipment to be able to replicate the device that is described above.

It doesn't sound easy for an experimenter to recreate if all of the test equipment is needed to replicate a device and make it work.  It begs the question:  Where would the experimenter get the needed test rigs?  Can Steorn provide a list and where one can buy the test rig equipment so that the cost can be determined and the experimenter can be prepared?

This is my opinion of what he is saying.

In the past, he has stated that the effect is a very simple one. I don't think re-creating the overunity effect will be too complicated. For goodness sakes, he is claiming five times the power density lithium ion batteries, a self-powered device, and one that can starts up with no input power.

My guess is that he is talking about building a demonstration and scientifically step by step measuring every tiny aspect to prove it to the overly skeptical naysayers.

The feeling I get is that his company is trying to over-documented (but in a good way) every tiny step of their measurement procedures to insure no one can say that their measurements are false. I think it would cost a good bit of money to get the equipment to measure each tiny aspect of the device. But if they are getting as much power from the devices as they claim then getting a tiny rotor spinning should not be that difficult of a problem.

To me, it seems like they have AT LEAST two technologies. The first is the LEMA that could be over-unity in and of itself. Secondly, is the technology they claim only uses magnetic fields created by permanent magnets with no LEMA and no magnetic shielding whatsoever.

Yes, the technologies sound very exciting and quite powerful.  Hopefully, like you say, it will not be hard for the experimenters on this site, with basic materials, to replicate a working version of it.  It would really make their day! ;)
