Thanks for posting this. I will always hate Bill Gates for all the bugs in all Microsoft software, and his paranoia about anybody stealing his stuff, but it was interesting to see how he has moved an inch or two toward his long trek to becoming a compassionate human being.

Will his distribution of wealth do any good? Does he have enough common sense to aim the money in a really useful direction? I doubt it. But we will see. There are a number of optimistic inventors  who presently have an operating budget of $1.98, who could flourish if Billy threw some real money their way. Including CANGAS. But probably he will stick with the mainstream science avenues of photovoltaic, wind, whatever, good safe science.

I personally believe he is too stupid and too lacking in imagination to aim any money toward the arcane heretical sciences of Over Unity and Free Energy. And therefore he will make no difference in the human race struggle to survive Global Warming.

What is his wealth? 60B, 70B, 80B, $USD? $2B USD is a drop in the bucket. He is not raising one drop of sweat to look like he is helpful.

Welcome to Judgment Day, Billy. What did you do that REALLY helped the human race?

I am personally very grateful for his Money driven madness ,we would most likely not be having this wonderful exchange were it not for his efforts.

Its what we do now that counts ,this internet has set us free in sooo many ways ,much quicker than anyone could ever have imagined ,there are people on the planet that have never even seen a payphone on a street corner in NYC .
and these same people have never  spent ten waking minutes away from a cellphone  !!

Writing a letter and putting a stamp on it and dropping it into Where ??

I do not give a F F about getting on Billy's short list. He is a failed human that is being tried to be propped up by Melinda. He is sinking not swimming.

Many years ago today I became inspired to somehow try to help the poorest of the Earth, including me, as I have been often highly qualified. I planned to GET LUCKY somehow, perfectly legally and honestly, and give money to help the poor. My plan was to give myself a comfortable though not lavish life, but especially to, as soon as possible, to then give 100% of my big LUCKY income to charity good works to help the poor, in agreement with the biblical instructions starting with Matthew 25: 31. Billy G. has a dam lot more money than him and his bride needs to lives in comfort. Tell me all about how Billy G. is giving 100% of his income to pay for good works to help the poorest. Oh, he is not?

Yes we are so lucky to be using G* D* Microsoft computers, which in my personal experience are so buggy and so vexing to work on and repair that they qualify as instruments of torture. Largely because Paranoid Billy has made it virtually impossible to trouble shoot and reinstall the software in a timely way. My sister uses an Mac. One Mac. It does not freeze up and go blue screen and die in your arms. I have been having to buy a Microsoft computer about every year just to have one that runs.

My invention concepts need no more than my $1.98 budget. Although I live in poverty and would be much more comfortable and productive if it were otherwise. All I need is a seemingly reliable method to patent, publish, manufacture, and, distribute working devices to the rich and the poor without being prematurely murdered or disappeared by the good ole USA NSA. The rich will pay the same market rate for electricity as now, and my profits will pay for giving away devices to the poorest among us. And I will continue to live on a $1.98 income till I die. I am an old man now so maybe it won't be too long now.

My tech is mechanical physical concepts which MUST work unless Newtonian physics is GROSSLY wrong at everyday velocity and energy level. I am not claiming to have built and proved a OU device. Also please notice that I am NOT claiming that I have NOT built and proved a OU device. A NSA MIB with a stereotypical IQ of about 67 and a half is probably so confused by now that it is crying face in hands.
