So, what weird and powerful effect do you expect? What purpose could it serve?

I think that I want to find a way to point true north, without using complicated electronics - the same thing that Lester was looking for and this research led him to discovery of a generator.

It exists, it is called a magnetic compass. See the attached picture showing an agent of the NSA using a compass in a secretive way. His right eye is emitting rays over the top of the compass housing.

Now, you take a compass (you can get them for about 1.-- to 10.-- Euros) and you turn it into a generator by blowing air onto the needle in order to make it turn. If you are content with Fempto-Watts, you are done.

I built a big compass with four strong magnets. It is not better than a small magnetic needle (which is a specially shaped magnet), just more cumbersome. It points true North if you give it up to a minute to slowly find North (North is 90° to the rotor). It finds true North very slowly because a big mass has to be dragged. If I turned it, it would produce more electricity than a small magnetic needle, but still very very little.

May be if you turn a building sized magnet in the earth magnetic field you could get a few Milliwatt.

condratelektro, I like your compasses but i'm not sure if you understand me well, TRUE NORTH and MAGNETIC NORTH are not the same thing, true north is an geodetic north and differs a few deegres from magnetic north ,magnetic compass needle do not point geodetic north.

in case of Hendershot, I think that he somehow bend earth field with another magnet (so needle shows true north) and then he makes (by pulsing coil) the field oscillate at very high frequency, he picked up that oscillation in honeycomb coil and feed output to input.Supposedly this oscillation produces more power that was needed to keep it going. NMR of some kind.
