   Hi !
Milkovic's 2SO ( lever + pendulum ) is the " prime line on paper "of the very old shadoof...playing variable/oscillatory leverage ( small angle ).
The next step is the trebuchet - throwing "outside " a mass , playing a half turn (180*) variable leverage.
The last step can be  a gravity continuous unbalanced leverage , playing a repetitive (360*) variable / oscillatory arm ( a "modified" trebuchet playing "inside"...) only.
