Had a good talk with some very conservative friends yesterday, got a little heated which was cool...

As I pointed out, all the Conservative leaders enacted the same Covid regulations as the Liberal leaders. They all did the same thing in Canada because any leader who did nothing and let Covid run rampant would be deemed incompetent and fired. So this "Liberal lies" nonsense is obviously false because the Conservatives did the same thing.

All the Conservative leaders also said we need Covid measures and the trucker rally needs to end, the same as the Liberals.

What my Conservative friends did say is that it was never about Covid or the trucker rally it was the fact they dislike Liberals. They will always oppose them because they believe all the detrimental changes in society, oil and gas jobs disappearing and our economic woes are all the Liberals fault. Basically everything that has ever happened that they don't like must be the Liberals fault. The Liberals seem to believe the same thing, I disagree with both parties which always seems to be the case...

So I asked the next obvious question...

Suppose we gave the Conservatives everything they want and you were in charge, what would you do differently in the last two years?. The answer was exactly as expected, there wasn't much one could have done different considering the circumstances. Sure we could have removed the Covid regulations sooner at the expense of lives but if it went sideways the Conservatives would lose power. There not stupid and they don't follow mob rule hence everyone on the left and right did the best they could considering what a shit show the Covid pandemic became.

It was an awesome conversation and it got a little heated but we all agreed cooler heads and facts must always prevail.

I also asked another question...
Almost every province in Canada is lifting all Covid restrictions in the next 30 days and all this drama will hopefully be behind us. So what was the point?, all the drama, billions lost in trade at the border, all the factories closed and jobs lost for what?. All the Covid restrictions were going to open up anyways a few weeks later so why all this nonsense?.

Again I already knew the answer, all us hard working common sense people have the same concerns. We see everything going sideways on us and nobody seems to have any answers. Not the left or the right or any other and were all in the same boat. Were simply blaming others as scapegoats because we have no answers either. That is the message I got from my friends and I agree...

In my opinion a more likely option is that Communist Russia has been playing everyone against each other. They are our common enemy and have few values which align with our own.

I think you are taking that quote and twisting it's meaning.  The article which you snagged that quote presents data which suggests Covid originated in the Wuhan Virology Lab. For years the official health oligarchs of the USA insisted it originated from bats in a cave.  The house of foreign affairs committee went as far to suggest evidence was destroyed to cover the tracks, and indeed the virus was "created".

"IF" the article proves to be factual-  then BOTH statements would be absolutely correct. 

1. It quite possibly was the biggest coverup of all time.
2. The actions that they are covering up resulted in millions of deaths.

Linking the amount of deaths to rebellion against the rules is not quite fair either.  There is enough history lessons to teach us-  Give up your freedoms for a promise of safety and you will be granted neither of the 2.

To those same folks in the U.S i.e.  who for so long contended that Covid was not a serious threat,
and who protested masking, who protested travel restrictions, said just ignore it.

Covid was not a fake and you should eat your words, move on and so on.
