How to arrange James Roney's shielded magnets

Hi,
guess you all know how James  Roney shielded his magnets.. if not:

In short he uses tree layer of thin isolated iron plates (magnet, paper, metal, paper, metal, paper, metal)..

However, I found this simple arrangement and as far as I know James never tried:

Is this the break-through? Did anyone tried it out before? What do you think?

You should read my publication, without any blocking. Only magnetic field lines are used to guide you
