High voltage HHO by IronHead

For a containment vessel I used a Cantex 6x6x6 pvc junction box similar to this one

and added a thick pvc lip around the top.   Drilled for a dozen more bolts and fitted a 1/2 in polycarbonate cover.   
Plastics compatability:   Pvc can handle KOH, but polycarbonate can't.  Polycarbonate can handle NaOH, but pvc can't. (I hope I don't have that backwards)

I've found some charts

that say pVC can handle dilute solutions of either lye (NaOH) or potash (KOH) solutions, so mebbe with mild concentrations it's not too important.

I use TIVAR and acrylic for caustic applications.

Hey Guys,
    First off let me say awesome work.  The design and the brains that have gone behind this work is just amazing.  Only imagine how much work will get covered in the following months.  IronHead, Awesome design.. The one question that I have is this.  The ideal voltage to get Hydrogen is 1.24v per cell.  Your cell has a total of 18 cells which as you said before takes your 36 volts and splits it to 2 volts per cell.  Excuse me if I am not thinking write, god knows that happens a lot, but wouldn't it be better to have 28 cells in the setup, that way each cell has a voltage that is closest to 1.24 volts and you get the most work out of the given current?  Just seems that it would be better to use the voltage to create work than to let it go off in heat.  As I said, I might be wrong and the heat may be needed, but was just wondering.

i wasnt going to say anything just yet but i am making mine that way.  i have 5 plates per cell thinking < 12 volts to power it up and then run them in parrallel with car in mind.  Now that you mention it that same thought went through my head because if this can generate anough to run my car that is stage 2!!!

i was also thinking that way we get several variations to play with for testing :)
