Great job. I hope you treated the silicon cell as if it was a poison because that just what it became.

The urethane sounds great ,can you give me some product names? I want to give it a go.  This could be a very good solution in the  long run.

I have invited Bill Chappell to the forums to see what we are doing as he is working on new electronics and such . I would be nice to have a good suppler for some of our needs. In time I think we can make this happen.

wonder if we could make a mold and coat it with a releaser of some sort, use them as gaskets, so you could still take it apart and clean it easily.

I would think coating the acrylic would be the answer as we want to seal off the most outer edge.  No need to clean, the constant movement of water with the cleaner "KOH" does this for us. Just a thought at the moment.

wait ,doesn't urethane also come in sheets ? The cell could just be lined with sheets of urethane . hmmmm

Urethane does indeed come in sheet stock, and here's the sister to the stuff I used

I got some samples of a similar DAP product that had been used  in lab analysis by a distributor- they were expired so they couldn't sell 'em... got over $100 USD worth free... gotta love it!

Anyhoo, the stuff stuck tenaciously,couldn't even scrape it off that ground prepped area with a razor knife.

I'll post pics of the assembly process; it's easier than y'all might think.

The stuff wouldn't let go of the wax paper, so I don't know if wax, or even PVA would work.  Remember, its job is to hold yer windscreen in yer ride, and keep water out whilst providing a strutural quality bond betwixt glass and painted metal.
