PL construction adhesive......  got some info on the 3.89 urethane i found.  doesnt seem to have the superglue holding strength the windshield stuff does, but i also didnt sand my plates, im pretty sure it will bond better with some nice scratches.  on a positive note i exposed it to 24v 10a for 4 hours and i also boiled it for a half hour and it didnt degrade or leave any reside in my water on either occasion,  i still have to get ahold of some koh and test it for chemical resistance but so far i think ive found my gasket maker.  it wont be good to glue material together plastic wise.  but i like to use screws to hold together my plastic anyways.  so just to let you guys know i think i found a cheap option if need be.  im holding the piece in my hands right now and it dries pretty hard and stiff.

BTW turtle i love the video, lol... seriously though good call on the adhesive

Just a couple of questions...
s_c_engineering; umm dosen't pl premium expand? Just a question because when I was doing the oak for my flooring on my stairs I was told not to use that stuff just the old regular pl, they say it expands and will cause it to lift before it cures, or while it is curing....I think.

and second
Ironhead; What water flow rate should we be looking at? does it matter all that much besides for cooling off the electrolyte / water in the cell?
It?s easier to be forgiven than it is to get permission....

not enough for me to notice.  looked the same when it was cured as when i put it on, and it didnt seem very porous or anything when i ripped it apart.  ill keep my eye out on my next test with it though.  thanks for the tip  maybe it expands enough when doing wood flooring to throw it off a bit cause you have some pretty tight clearances when your trying to make the joints and whatnot fit.  the package says its for roofing.

hkyle;
the expansion issue is more on the order of gorilla glue or liquid polyurethane- that stuff foams and pushes yer parts that ain't clamped plum outa whack.

s_c;
I have my doubts as to how well that PL will bond to metal, 'specially if it ain't ground on real good.

I used a case of it building the garage and lab, but I ain't used none on stainless yet.  I got a stack to bond- mebbe I'll try some there.

I tried to jes add that last plate, moving the end plate, but when I released the clamp, all them spacers slid down into the goo... man, what a mess!  That mistake cost me two hours!

Time to feed the turtles...

has anyone tried automotive body panel glue? The same stuff manufactures use, just a thought.
