I've been trying to understand some of the electronics involved in this, and I hear Stan talking about an amp consuming device. How do you restrict amps in a circuit?

This video makes good inspiration.

Driven by an AC motor so size is mostly the big AC motor driver.

Popeye, that's what a resonant RLC  [resistance, inductance, capacitance] circuit will do for ya, get the voltage high and keep the amps low.   But I ain't done it yet, on any scale.
(edit: not resistance, but "resonant")

That MIT class is long, but I found it worth it,

and both give a good understanding of the tank circuit principle.

Hi Guys and IH,

did some more tests at 24v, 36v and 110v, in a smaller container ;). This cell design work best at high voltage but heat happens fast as it goes up. Also less and less of KOH is needed as voltage goes up, a minute amount was needed at 110v.

I wrote the voltage of each pic below and the video is at 110 volts and with next to nothing of KOH, I drop it till I could run the cell for about 3 min. without overheating.
