I believe the guy is saying they're  made of 74  or whatever different elements and so on.
There was a rumor going around that the rods were stacked  full of Lithium Ion button batteries and the whole thing was a scam.

But I have know idea

it is not a scam  the rods hace a peice of copper wire running through the center of both of them if you take apart a d battery 1.5 volt what is in the center of that a peice of carbon or somthing like it could it be made of all of those elelements and how it might work

is when the carbon is in the battery the electrolite moves to the core when current is drwn now if you take away the electrolite and you give a negitive charge to the carbon it would use our surounderings to power it any thing that is opsitly charged will flow to the carbon

has any one found out any more on this i have had no luck in serches on the net i have not tryed to build yet tho but i will try soon

i saw a page on the net from japan they use cermanic posts it is simple in design has anyone tryed the battery posts the core i mean of the battery with a ring magnet around 1 of the posts?and 2 copper wires drilled inside of the posts?

If the board was REALLY producing 110 volts AC or DC, the guy would be getting a pretty good jolt from his careless handling of the electrodes. He touches both electrodes at the same time several times in the videos without even a flinch. My money is on a 24 volt light bulb and three 9 volt batteries or the "Magic" lightbulb such as used in magicians stage act. Eight 3 volt lithium cells hidden in the underside of the board would also work. Low voltage Christmas tree light are my guess for the other video.
