Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

This has already been posted on this forum a few times  :P

I believe this is nothing more than a concentrated type of "microwave effect. He does not state how many watts are being used to achieve this, but I can assure you guys its likely at least around 400-500.

Whats most likely happening is that the salt-water (which is more conductive that conventional water, as many of you know), is absorbing the electromagnetic radiation in the form of electricity, and as it does this, the molecular bonds are broken between the oxygen and hydrogen, forming brown's gas, which is being burned. If pure-salt water is unable to convert the radio-frequencies to electricity, the various minerals and metals found in water will do this (hence the distilled water did not work). The oxygen produced also helps oxidate (essentially burn) the paper towel, causing it to ignite. Try spraying pure oxygen at steel wool and you get the same effect (If I remember correctly).

Granted what is cool about this is that there is no need for electrodes to achieve electrolysis, but unfortunately the amount of energy produced is still going to be less that what is used (the little flame being a testament to this).

Pretty cool though.

Cheers!

Thats roughly what I assumed, but still I would like to see something more conclusive. If anyone finds something describing this experiment please post it here. Even if its only as efficient as convential electrolysis, the lack of need for electrodes still makes this a really useful experiment.

Well it has come to my attention (thanks to tbird for the link) from http://solsticeforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=499695 that Kanziuz uses a mere 200 watts worth of radio waves, and the flame produced burns at around 3,000 degrees (Fahrenheit I assume). The temperature is indicative of Brown's gas being produced (and the yellow-orange hydrogen flame seen in the videos is also congruent with this conclusion).

The efficiency of electrolysis here, however, may not be any higher than conventional electrolysis (people who are into this field know how much Brown's gas can be produced with 20 amps at 10 volts, or 10 amps at 20 volts), and since the energy is converted into radio-waves, much of the energy may be being lost by diffusion into the environment, but a metal box may help contain it. There is one clear advantage of not having any electrodes to maintain and replace.

Another completely different possibility would be that the sodium-chloride (salt) is somehow being ripped apart by the radio-waves, which then produces sodium to react with water to form sodium hydroxide (quite caustic and dangerous) as well as hydrogen gas. Sodium also "burns" when introduced to a flame (It doesn't necessarily add energy to the flame by itself, but adds color), which also may contribute to the yellowish hue of the flame produced.

Of course, in the end though, nothing is going to replace gasoline in the near future. Gasoline is by far the most energy-dense substance that is available at many stations for use, and as sad as it may be, its not likely to change for quite some time. The problem with the technology here, and all hydrogen technology for that matter, is that it takes electricity or some other form of energy to produce it, and by the time it is used in fuel cells or reburned in cylinders, most of the original energy has been lost. Another problem presented here is that the world still gets a vast majority of its energy (over 60 percent) from non-renewable coal, which still adds CO2 and other pollutants to the atmosphere. Hydrogen is an energy carrier, not an energy source, and I think too often do people confuse the two notions. We need to get to the source of the problem, and find a new solution to generating electricity rather than finding ways to transfer the energy to our cars. If not, we might as well just stick lumps of coal directly into a steam engine in our cars rather than have to convert the energy so many times.

Very interesting, hopefully Kanzius is able to refine it further to up the efficiency even more.
