Hi everyone,

My name is James and this is my first post. I want to share with you some pics of the Hydrogen Cell that I have been working on.

It took me about 3 hours in all and works very well.

and 1 last pic:

As you can see from the 3rd pic, it is a 2-plate design and doesn't use any neutral plates although would probably benifit from 2 or 3. At the moment it runs too hot so I will investigate pulsed high voltage low amp circuits to get it to run nice and cool.

All feedback welcome.

Nice design James,
what kind of plastic pipe casing did you use and how did you fix the Stainlesssteel
pipes there ?

Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Stefan.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the reply. The plastic casing is 40mm drain pipe coupler with an O-ringed blanking plate at each end. I connected the stainless plates with some stainless M4 bolts bent at right angles and tightened on to the plates with some nuts and washers. The bolts also double as the electrical connections for the electrodes, so that the wires just get tightened on with a nut and washer. The contacts are sealed with a mini O-ring and some washers on each side - it works a treat.

It works pretty well, the only challenge is the heat that is put out. So the next plan is to go a lot higher with the voltage and drop the amps as low as possible to try and keep the temp cool. Time will tell though. Lots of trial and error me thinks.

Oh, and the brass fitting at the end of the gas line is a jet out of a Dell'Orto Mini Moto carb: size 98. It has the effect of increasing the gas pressure inside the unit makiing it easier to direct the gasflow.
;D

Thanks IronHead,

I will take a look at that thread, I am sure that there is a lot there that I can learn.
