I tend to dissagree on that neutralize thing and loses i don't think applies when two magnets of the same strength, composition, and form apply. Define permenant magnet. It will be a constant struggle of repulsion for the fields bieng caged in this configuration. but I doubt it would demagnetize any due to the same strength. it would require a stronger field. In this configuration the opposing fields would be pinched and follow the path of least resistance. which would be radially outward. not sure how this will effect the poles that are on the outside of the configuration. I am sure they will be deformed by the opposing fields predicament.

IF this 2 Magnets are (before) with differen forces :

So the stronger magnet will lose (an part)
the second magnet will will REVERS this polority  and take the  forces , that
the -first- =stronger have losed inthis "action".

(With "soft iron magnets" this "go" in faster time, because the magnetic-capacity is lower from them

I'm going to try to replicate this. The three drop items i'm going to be useing are 1/4 x 1/8 N42 disc magnets. Not toroid as boyd described. probably will fail as the toroid leaves the axis void of a physical field and gives the displaced repulsion field a place to be focal.

anyways 1st drop item is two disc magnets superglued N fields touching. second drop item will be two disc magnets superglued N-S fields touching. 3rd drop item will be just an iron blank the same weight as the other two drop items.

Any predictions?

Well,  I'll take Bushman's word that the two opposing norths will take the most time before hitting the ground.  I think the N-S will be the same as a iron blank.  Maybe try two opposing souths as well.  Perhaps what part of the globe you are on will affect it.  How high of a distance are you gonna drop the weights? 

Maybe we could setup two opposing electromagnets and measure the effects when putting a massive amount of power through it.
