While googling the author and company name for US patent #6731035, "Apparatus for generating autogenic energy", I ran across information about another applied patent from the same company called "Apparatus for self-generating a driving force", which describes an ultra simple magnet and coil set up.

And at this page:

There is a video of something spinning, which accelerates after an initial push. It is not clear if the device in the video is meant to be a working version of the patent.

Sorry Ken,

I don't know how real this is, a search of the US Patent Office returned no results. It strikes me as odd that the USPTO would accept a patent application that claims perpetual motion in the first sentence. But stranger things have happened.

The patent is of course total nonsense as far as accepted laws of physics are concerned, but since when has that stopped anyone who was trying to screw money out of Mr. and Mrs. Dumbarse Public. :-)

I am sure Lawrence Tseung can see the Lead out energy in this.

Hans von Lieven.

Lol!
Actually, Tseung is at least very close tied to it. He is promoting the above video (and another similar one) on youtube.
(Too bad that those two wires quietly go out of the frame? otherwise I would be instantly convinced, no matter what science says about it.)

Found the patent application on USPTO:

Also, see attached PDF version.  I have not read this yet, so have no opinion on it until later.

Sorry jeffc,

You are right, I got the number wrong on my search, I just checked.

Sorry fellows.

Incidentally Tinu can you explain the significance of what looks like a two dollar digital clock in the foreground? Some sort of esoteric measuring device perchance?
