Extreme Slowness

For several weeks now the site has been painful to peruse do to loading time. There seems to be to many graphics to load and they get reloaded for every topic selection. And whatever "/la-1532-abunchofnumbersandletters" is it NEVER loads in less than a ful minute - often longer.

I have now removed the layer advertisement and it should now load much faster
all in all again.

Please let me know, if you still have access problems.

At least the site is working now!

Living out in a rural area with 26 to 28 Kb dialup because of the five miles of copper phone line means waiting sometimes over a minute for all the graphic ads to load before the important text messages appear. I guess Stefan needs to pay the rent.

If the text were to load first we could read while the ads load. Then we could move on to the the next page sooner which would increase the number of pages read and increase the number of ads displayed. I only veiw a few of the posts because the pages take too long to load.

I just timed this post and the previous two posts. They take about 35 to 40 seconds until the text is loaded then continues loading icons, etc.

Like I said, at least the site is working now.

disable Javascript in your browser.
Then you don?t have the ads in here !
A little trick from the moderator...

P.S: if you put in Internet Explorer
in Extras/Internetoptions/Temporary Internetdata
the tag to Automatic and
not reload every time, then it caches all the pics
of the icons and the browsing should go much faster...
