   A little late to the board here but the 9 coil, 12 mag setup is very good. You really need
to look at using mags on both sides that way you saturate the coils and get much more
output from it. I am building one now for a project and will be looking at 12v for the proto
but will need 24/48 on the big ones as it will end up using 24v deep cycle bats. The higher
your saturation, the slower you can spin as in low speed wind applications.

i have mooved on to build 6 other VAWTs and i am using off the shelf Ametek, works great.
