Test equipment

I am new  at  building   coils  and  eletronic  stuff .

I have never   had any  test  equipment   other than a multimeter.

I don't  have alot to spend .

I was wondering  if anyone  here has  any experience with
 
USBee   USB and PC based Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer and Protocol Analyzer

I know  that  buying   test equipment  that is not  quite up to the  job is kind of like  buying
a race horse that  won't run .


I was looking at the  AX STD  or the AX plus
they list  some specs but I am not  far enough into  this kind of  thing that they make  any sense to me .

I plan on  building  a  Tesla  coil ,    but  mostly  I want to   work with   back  emf  spikes .....maybe make a motor  after I  learn  how to make the spikes  work for me .

If you  know  about  this   particular   test equipment or something similar  please  let me know about your experiences.

I am not willing to  make the  computer I am using  now into an ocilloscope ....It is a notebook ....if I  fry  something  it could be  difficult  or imposable   to repair. 

But then  again    if I can find  an old  computer  somewhere ......
