I was brainstorming on adding a frequency onto the coil on the cheap. What would a car audio amplifier do? hook up the coil directly to where the radio would hook up to the speakers and play a certain frequency through it. is that AC or DC power coming out of the amp?

I think that commercial audio amps use a push-pull system, so I assume that AC would be the result.

m guessing AC doesn't produce hydrogen?

AC can be easily converted to DC with just a diode or a full or half wave rectifier.

The important frequency for water is 42.8 khz, as discovered by John Worrell Keely in Victorian times. Some people use a pulse width modulated circuit (pwm) to achieve this. Check out the Workingwatercar  or the hydroxy Yahoo Groups.
