If you go too hot forget PVC or any plastic canisters (I personally wouldn't use any glass canister either, if that brake or blows, it can be ugly), they will melt (personal exp.). If your generator is working too hot, you will create more and more steam than HHO. Correct me if I'm wrong.

whats the matter with steam?
its an additional combustable substance

joe xogen is emphatic----MUST USE SOLID SS CONTAINER sthing which dont expand or contract

sorry  i forgot to say   steam is definately no good if using a bubbler
but should help a lot if using vacuum electrolysis

Yes. but I prefer more HHO than steam. ;)

Steam may be combustible, but wreaks havoc on the engine, especially when the bubbler fills up, and liquid gets in the cylinders, I'm still trying to find out when is too hot. Anyway I shrouded the generator better, and certainly saw some inprovement. On the way home yesterday, it was about 90-95 degrees, and the temp of the blacktop was 125 (yes you can fry an egg on it!!!), I was able to maintain a gen temp of 105 degrees (at 65 mph, lots of air flowing across the gen) by the time I got home (35 miles), this is much better than I have done before. I'm still trying to get the fan setup correct so that when in traffic she doesn't go to 130 degrees+. My plan is that if I can minimize the temp build between min and max, I will be able to adjust the KOH properly, at the moment temp build is approx 10 degrees, with a 10 amp startup. If I can control the temp build from outside heat, the PWM will control heat build up from the amps, then I should be good to go.
